Introducing Jess Kim

Hi! My name is Jessica Kim and I am currently a Junior at Garnet Valley High School. I was born in America but I grew up in Korea until I was about Kindergarten so I am fluent in both Korean and English. Some of my hobbies include reading, photography, sleeping baking and hanging out with friends. At school, I have been involved in Interact, Model UN, FMSP (Future Medical Science Professionals), Marching Band and Concert Band since freshmen year. Along with my involvement in school, I volunteer consistently within the community by being a member of a church in Philly while also spending my summers working at hospitals.

 As I am going to be a senior next year, I have many thoughts about my future along with what I hope to pursue after I graduate. After I graduate, I hope to attend Boston College as a nursing major as I want to become a Physician Assistant. My sister is currently a nurse and is soon to be a Nurse Practitioner which has influenced me to want to pursue a career within the medical field. When I become a PA, I hope to work at a children's hospital and specialize in cosmetic dermatology. I was able to job shadow a cosmetic dermatologist who also specialized in Mohs Surgery which includes the removal of moles that appear cancerous. He was also involved with the cosmetic side of dermatology so he was able to perform lip injections, laser treatments and more. As this is something that I have a great interest in, I plan to follow through with my goals and achieve my dreams.
